Macomb County "Old County Building" & 16th Circuit Court
Courts and Administration Spaces
The challenge
As part of Macomb County's downtown Mt. Clemens master plan, the Old County Building was to be renovated with the relocation of the Juvenile Court and Friend of the Court Services within. The building had sustained fire damage a few years earlier and was left essentially vacant. Major programming elements needed to be worked out along with security issues due to the nature of services to be held here. Wakely also renovated and constructed 4 courtrooms at the 16th Circuit Court as part of this project.
Successfully bring a historic 13 story building up to today's standards with technology upgrades, safety considerations and code compliance. Also, to help layout a functional flow for the multitude of services to be held within the building.
