PROJECT OVERVIEW
Wakely Associates partnered with Macomb County to deliver a comprehensive expansion and modernization of the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center, creating a secure, modern campus designed to support rehabilitation, education, and the long-term well-being of youth within the County's juvenile justice system. Completed through a carefully planned multi-phase approach, the project combined approximately 110,000 square feet of new construction with 45,000 square feet of renovations, transforming the existing campus into a more functional, efficient, and supportive environment while maintaining the continuity of essential operations throughout construction.
The project included the construction of new secure residential housing units, modern educational facilities, administrative offices, a gymnasium, cafeteria, recreation areas, and supporting operational spaces that provide a safe and structured environment for both residents and staff. Extensive renovations modernized existing classrooms, activity spaces, and support areas while improving overall functionality, security, and operational efficiency. Every aspect of the facility was thoughtfully designed to support educational programming, behavioral development, recreation, and rehabilitation while meeting the specialized operational and security requirements unique to a juvenile justice environment.
