PROJECT OVERVIEW
Wakely Associates partnered with Macomb County to design and deliver a new Department of Public Works facility that enhances the County's ability to efficiently manage essential public infrastructure and services. Developed as part of a broader site redevelopment initiative, the project was carefully planned to improve operational efficiency while providing County staff with a modern, functional workplace designed to support the day-to-day demands of public works operations.
The project included the construction of a new Department of Public Works facility along with associated renovations that modernized administrative and support spaces. The new building was strategically located on a shared site with the Macomb County Road Commission, allowing both agencies to operate more efficiently while maximizing the use of County resources. Following completion of the new facility, the existing Department of Public Works building was demolished to accommodate the continued development of the shared campus. Additional office renovations further enhanced the functionality of the facility, creating flexible workspaces that support collaboration, productivity, and long-term operational needs.
More than a new office building, the Macomb County Department of Public Works project represents a strategic investment in the infrastructure that supports County operations and public services. By creating a modern, efficient facility and coordinating development with neighboring County agencies, the project demonstrates Macomb County's commitment to responsible planning, operational excellence, and providing high-quality facilities that will continue to serve employees and residents for years to come.
